LISKEARD EVENTIDE HOME LTD - A 'not for profit' Residential Care Home

Liskeard Eventide Home was opened in 1952. Funded by local donations, it was the people of  Liskeard's memorial for those who had given their lives in the Second World War. The Home has a Management Committee of volunteers who ensure the excellent reputation of Eventide is preserved. The Manager and staff are well qualified to provide quality care in a relaxing, warm and friendly environment.

Our Mission Statement is, 'to provide quality care without jeopardising independence or dignity. Therefore residents are encouraged to continue their personal hobbies, interests and links with clubs, religious associations, friends and families whilst living at Eventide.
We enjoy meeting new people in our community and therefore provide Respite and Day Care services at Eventide.
A Respite stay can be for as little as three nights up to six or eight weeks. This can be used for short holidays away from home or convalescence care after a hospital stay. A comprehensive Care Plan will be compiled prior to a visit to ensure all needs are met.
Day Care includes morning coffee, a two course lunch, afternoon entertainment and refreshments. It could also include a bath and an evening snack if required.
At our last inspection by The Care Quality Commission we were rated as an 'OUTSTANDING' Home. We are only the second Home in Cornwall to achieve this rating.
Our manager and staff attend regular training in all aspects of Health & Social Care to ensure we keep up to date with good working practices. Comprehensive care plans are compiled and regularly reviewed. Information is compiled with the assistance of the resident and family members.
The staff at Eventide are 'Dignity Champions' and therefore practice all aspects of preserving and respecting our residents dignity.  Training Manager Kirstie is our Co-Ordinator for this important scheme.
Many activities take place at Eventide. These include, relaxation, keep fit, reminiscence, hang man, word quizzes, prize bingo, computer club, craft club and knitting club. In addition we have visiting choirs, singers, musicians, senior school choirs and musicians and pre school children groups. Sam is our Activities Co-Ordinator and appreciates any new ideas regarding entertainment or activities.
